My mom was right, I DO have ADD!

Girls don't like me. And I don't like them, alot of the time either, to be Frank for a second (just kidding, still Claire!)

High school wasnt my finest uh, 4 years. I still to this day, have NO idea what I apparently did, but someone just decided to hate me & their minions went along with it.
I was Jenny,Little J, to their Blair.
Of course, now that we're no longer in high school everyone is all "you were pretty. thats all"
And I'm all "duh, thank you omg I know I am!!!"

Just a friendly reminder of what today is....

For Katie-

It's....Anti Panty Friday (an-tee pan-tee FRI-DAY)

-The day made up a week or so ago, to convince myself that going pantyless on a daily basis, can be shared with the public, if its made to feel "group" like, and special.

As long as your not pulling a Brit Brit, and its a stay at home kinda day, join in!

Really, stay at home, because no one NEEDS to catch a glimpse, in public. Not even of Brit Brits lady bits.

Will pimp,er trade sexy prostitut,ah..pictures ..Hm, this is just the wrong direction I want to be going....

I like to win. I always have & I always will. I'm good at winning & I'm much more competitive than people guess I am. I don't get into games, I'm not much of a card player, but if I set my mind to something.

God help you if you get in my way.
I might eat you.

So, I'm whoring the internet for votes.

Yes. I'll trade you sexy pictures, or shoot you a text message with some funky language if I must.

But, I need you to vote for me first. I never give my end of the deal first, Mike ruined that for me with his "I'll do dishes if we have sex first" crap

So, here is what I need you to do, for me.
I am a green mom.
You know I am, hell, we even recycle cat poop here, with the dogs help!!!
Because I am a green mom, I entered a "Greenest Mom" contest at a local childrens resale store, for a $500 shopping spree.

If you have a Facebook,  Visit the Childrens Orchard Green Mom contest HERE. Become a FAN.

Scroll down to find my entry, Claire Hale.

LIKE my post. That's all you have to do, is be a fan, so then you can LIKE my post.

I went from second place, with the leader have 52, yesterday & I had 34, to having over 60 votes today.

I am a good, good internet whore.

However, the contest runs until April. Ryan will turn 2 then, how special would he feel if he won a $500 shopping spree??

He wouldn't care. But I do, and I must win. We by no means need $500 in kids clothes & toys so in my effort to pay it forward, If I win, I will let you guys help me decide what charity to buy clothes & donate for. Or, to send to Haiti, or whatever you guys vote for, but, I can't do that if you don't get your sweet little butts over & LIKE me.

Like me, please.

Now..I know, sexy pictures.. I cant believe I'm going to do this, my parents will be so ashamed..

Ready?

Get the kids, and husbands out.. You dont need to explain tese things to you kids & I dont want anyone to be mad at me for stealing their husband so...

You want to do the nipple tweak, ya know, the "roll" guys do when they first find boobs, for the rest of their life. I know. Sexy.

Hey, I didn't say sexy pictures of ME, did I???

Cottonelle. Team over, Team under?

Which way does your toilet paper roll?

-Are you team over?
-Team under?
-Team I don't care?
-Team "I will punch you if it isn't over"
-Team "I'll hurt you if it doesn't hang under!"

Maybe your team..
- "I don't care, I'm just glad I dont have to wipe with my hand, like the old days"

I hope ALL of us can fit into the last Team...

Do you have a preference as to which way your TP rolls, and why?

I am team over. All the way. There is no rational reason for TP to be under. Ever. Unless its hanging above your head, from where your perched on the toilet.. I supposed that's the only way I'd ever OK toilet paper being "under"

It's just the truth. There is no denying it, or arguing with me. Your wrong, if you disagree. I am right.

But..just for giggles..in case any of you disagree.. argue your case!! Share with me your political views on which way toilet paper rolls.

Grab an icon to show which way YOU roll.

Today, 1/27 is Thomas Crapper Day and Cottonelle will be in NYC with Tori & Dean launching this campaign

My husband is gross. And so is my dog.

My dog is gross. This we know. She has a bad habit of eating poop out of the cat's litter box at night. I mean, I can't be around to scoop it at all hours of the day & she actually HOPS in and DIGS. It's gross. And kind of funny to see your dog who is smaller than your cat, standing INSIDE the litter box.

However, its fucking gross & I yell at Mike to take care of it like, ALL the time.

Apparently, instead, he decided to take pictures.

I've had camera troubles for awhile, I had to re install my software to get it to work, so I had a good couple of months of photos to upload. As I scanned through them obviously, i found one I didn't remember taking, so I opened it. To a full size image.

Then I barfed.

My camera takes pretty good quality pictures, I will say that.

I keep making the mistake of opening the photo again, It's like a scab, I keep opening it over & over no matter the repercussions.

I obviously need to do SOMETHING with it, but what? I've been asking myself, what can I possibly use a picture of my dog eating shit for??

Today, after seeing all the awesome awards on this blog I've recently found & have come to LOVE.
Steam Me Up, Kid. I think this is the funniest blog ever. I mean, I have nearly died reading her posts. Literally, I almost choked & died.

And then this site, which I recently found & now LOVE. Obvious Winner. Which I just don't have words for. It's THAT awesome.

I figured it out!

I'm going to make my own award. So. keep an eye out for it & pass it on, should you feel the need. Also, if your sick enough to, please, place it on your site & share with others, how I truly feel for you.

calling all Chuck fans!!

This is AWESOME! You know how you read other mom blogs & think "Thats AWESOME!" and get a wee bit jealous, but in a "I'm happy for you.. just jealous your way awesomer than me" type way??

Yeah..prepare to get jealous!!

Lee, over at My Sentiments ExactLee is going to be interviewing, yes, interviewing, Adam Baldwin, the co star of NBC's Chuck!

He's attractive......

Sorry, I had to get a tissue to wipe my drool off the keyboard!

So, Lee is taking questions from readers to ask Adam during their interview.

Directly from Lee -

"Baldwin has generously offered his time to discuss issues like making informed decisions on vaccinating your children, Hollywood Parenting, http://www.ride2recovery.com/ (one if his favorite charities) and just about anything you’d like to ask him. He can’t give us any spoilers about Chuck so don’t ask, besides, all you’d get out of him is a grunt. Of course he’ll be happy to answer questions about past shows he has worked on. I’m steering clear of too many deep political questions because we have limited time and Adam really likes to prove his point, but I may let a few through.
The tentative time for this interview is February 18th at 9:00 PM EST but will be confirmed closer to the date, as Adam’s shooting schedule is not set that far in advance. But I can tell you this, he is very excited to participate.
Please, leave your questions for Adam Baldwin below and we’ll be choosing the best for the webshow.  Keep coming back to see what others have asked and help give a push to the topics that interest you most.  So you don’t loose track of this thread remember to bookmark http://mysentimentexactlee.com/2010/01/web-show-interview-with-adam-baldwin/ so it will be easily found if it gets bumped by other news & reviews over the next month."

I have to tell you. This is so cool on so many levels, but I  thought it was awesome to see a comment about informed vaccination decisions. I personally, am on the "selective  & delayed" vaccination boat.

Please, keep your comment bashing of me & my parenting choices to a minimun.

With celebrities like Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy  speaking out about vaccinations & being informed, as well as Greening our Vaccines, I'm interested to see Adam's thoughts on the topic.

I submitted a question,

claire January 26, 2010 at 4:55 pm
My question is exactly what you said Lee, what are Adams thoughts on making informed decisions regarding vaccinations? With celebrities like Jim Carrey & Jenny McCarthy coming out speaking about their informed vaccination choices & urging other parents to do the same, would Adam say he is on the same side of the fence as them? What has led him to his personal believes on vaccinations. I don’t know, does he have children?? I have strong views, which arent always the popular mainstream, thoughts myself. I thought it was cool to see a celebrity, that would speak about that, on a mom blog. It’s prompting me to look more into Adams acting & work now! Maybe I’ll find a new show to Tivo, this Chuck, huh?? I’m actually intrigued to see the vaccination comment mentioned & will be tuning into the interview, for that alone! Plus, Adam isnt shabby on the eyes.

Submit your own question for Adam, and congratulate Lee on getting an awesome interview!!

I'll be tuning in.. will you???

Since Mike started back in school, basically last week I've had my blog time back. I've spent a good majority of it nearly peeing myself as I read the entries of some of my new favorites & special finds.

However, I came across Girl Talk Thursday & lets face it. I LOVE to talk about random things, and make lists & all that fun stuff. I got out of the habit of doing Small Talk Six over at Momdot but I am going to try to get back into that, plus, add on Girl talk Thursdays!

Girl Talk Thursday

I am not ashamed to say that I am thrilled to jump into this Girl Talk thing with this because I LOVE talking about random things & sharing my opinions & beauty products are one of those things that I have been there, done that with so much of it all & I truly have well formed thoughts.

-Dove bar soap.
I swear. If someone told me they'd kill me if I didnt only use one type of cleanser for the rest of my life, I'd pee myself out of fright, but then I'd wash up with Dove. There is a reason its in SO many magazines as the basic perfect bar of soap for all needs. It's just perfect. You get clean, that's a plus. But its gentle enough for babies, it doesn't clog pores & the gentleness of it makes it perfect for faces. Its just an all around moisturizing, gentle, pure soap. I've tried all sorts of expensive designer soaps, handmade soaps, you name it, if its made to clean your bod  in the shower & its under $50 a bottle, I've likely tried it. I could always come back & use Dove & think "why don't I always use this?"

-Salon quality hair products. My favorite, hands down in Matrix Smoothing for shampoo & conditioner. I am the queen of a million shampoo bottles in the shower. I like to rotate.. I have a schedule.. it's intense. But, I have good hair, I've never met anyone who hasnt said so!

-Proactiv. I don't even have "bad" skin. I have pretty good skin, I think I maybe had ONE blemish before the age of 19. With the crazy hormones of all this kid having, its been a skin saver for me! There is a reason its all over the place, it works!!!

-I'm also a fan of removing your makeup. All the time, all the way. Ugh. Don't even get me started, I'll just leave it at that!

-Water. Drinking water gives better hair, skin & all around beauty health. It's basically all I drink, besides tea, lately.

-Sleep. Ditto above!

Activeion review and GIVEAWAY! -CLOSED-

I try to limit the use of chemicals in this house, I make my own cleansers ( time consuming) I buy safe & natural cleansers ( which aren't always available in store, so they require shipment & anyone who buys online knows you never buy from the first place you find, you find coupon codes & hunt for the best price, or free shipping, etc) but now I've been cleanser free in my entire house for TWO months. No paper towels, no cleansers.. The savings alone, minus the extra benefits of Activeion have been amazing.

I can't even tell you how in love I am with Activeion, you HAVE to watch this video. Bill Nye sums it up better than I ever could!

I've been using the Activeion cleaning solution in our home & I can honestly say, this is the best product I've gotten the chance to review yet.

This is how it works,

1. Charging
A water cell applies a slight electrical charge to the tap water.

2. Transforming
The charged water passes through an ion exchange membrane, creating an oxygen-rich mixture of positive and negative nano-bubbles.

3. Cleaning
The ionized water now attracts dirt like a magnet and lifts it from the surface, enabling it to be easily wiped away.

I think my favorite thing is that Andy (age 3.5) can HELP me. Since we've gotten the Activeion,he asks to clean up his spills, or a stain on the carpet from his brother & because its only water, he CAN help me. He can spray the mist & even wipe the soiled area, and I don't have to worry about him being exposed to chemicals but I can help instill a good work/cleaning ethic at a young age.

The air & room smell clean, with out a chemical smell, surfaces are streak free & spotless, shiny & they feel so clean I'd eat off them! I even clean the toilet, yes, the toilet with my activeion! Its removed a blue Popsicle stain from the carpet, yogurt Ryan threw on our new rug, it even cleans up pet accidents!

Mikes favorite was cleaning glass, while I actually got stains out of the 2 (fabric!) recliners out boys have taken over.

I've charged the battery once in 2 months, when we first got it. Add water, use microfiber towels & we're set! The waste in landfills from paper towels alone could be eliminated if everyone used activeion & microfiber cloths!

I can't say enough good things about this product. The Activeion has the potential to change cleaning as we know it, while being clean, green & eco friendly. I even water my bonsai plant with it! I can truly say this is something we use daily and will continue to do so for the rest of our lives. And the Activion is built to last, so I know it will last for years & years & years to come.

Activeion has come out with the new Ionator Hom. A smaller more compact version for every day use, while the original is a large, more industrial built machine.

You can buy the ActiveIon HOM for $169.00, the Activeion PRO for $299.00 and the Activeion EXP for $329.00 by ordering directly here or locating a distributor for Activeion on their main website.

One lucky winner will win an ActiveIon for their own use!

does bubby need a wooby??

Men.

Are babies.

And by men, I mean my husband. ..And mostly all of my ex's.. and the majority of men I've ever met in general.

Huh, I guess I just did mean "men" . Go figure.

Exibit A- I found this many months ago, but I bring it up to help my testimony as to why men are big fucking babies.

I rest my case.

I was tardy to the party.

Obviously, 2010 has been in full swing for a few weeks here, and as I've been doign some blog changes I've founf entries I started but never finished ( damn life & children not standign still while I write!!!)

SO.. Better late than never, right?

One of the things I love most in life is lists.

Sometimes, I even write things I just did but forgot to write just so I can cross it out. I like them neat & perfect, with little dots, or button points. Yay lists!!

Smiley

excuse me.

anyway.

As we all know, with the end of a year & the arrival of a new one, Years Best lists are abound. It's a glorious array of worst dresser, funniest animals, disasterous couples, clothing & some all around sick shit if your into that sorta thing.

Check these stories, clips, photos & news from 2009.And yes, some of them will likely be offensive, because they are MY favorites.

Consider yourself warned.

1.)

I'm not sure what my favorite part was "please don't tell people, this makes me look like an idiot" or "lots of people have to make this mistake all the time!"

2-Slow Loris gets tickled. Mike is now determined we will "some day" have a slow loris of our own. Riighhtt, and I'll have a helpful husband who  cleans the toilet himself.

3- Little Girls are way grosser than little Boys...

4-

This, of course, is tragic, however, tell me your sphincter isnt clenching as you lean forward on YOUR computer desk chair right now???

5- AMAZING Video. Just awesome. Watch in HD if your able.

8-Poor little Adolf Hitler. No cake for you!!!! I know lots of you remember THIS story!!! I believe those children ended up being later removed from the home. Hmm.....Mike just had to explain which was the man in that picture.. Take a close look..
..Riiighhtt???

9- This makes you not want to share pictures, huh?

10- What is the most unusual thing you've ever eaten, contest??
Okay..

What.
The.
Fuck.
Do. You. Say. To.
THAT.
?

11-

Ok, I'll say it. Dude. if my kid was that fucking stupid, I might smack them. I mean, look at her face, even she knows she's a fucking moron.

13-

14- "The one with the dog" What the FUCK?!?! I bet this chick has a neck tattoo. I can just feel it.

15-Girlfriend Doesn't Realize Boyfriend is on Vacation  - "Sorry I didn't return your calls, honey. I was in Europe. What's your excuse for being a bitch?"

16- Turtle has amazing Orgasm.

I know. You laughed, you cried, you barfed.

How is 2010 going for YOU so far??

Cuisinart Rice Plus Multi-Cooker with Fuzzy Logic Technology

I used to be a white rice kind of girl. When we went out for sushi & people seated around the table got their food cooked in front of them, I had to special order steamed rice ( which people always forget.) and not watch while they cooked & ate the rice. (I DON'T do eggs)
I still gag at the thought & sight of egg & veggie crap in my rice, but I have branched out past white rice.

However, while my palate has expanded & my ability to cook rice fully, I still find myself annoyed at juggling when I forget the grain blend I want takes 50 minutes. Sometimes I'm not exactly sure if my heat is right, or I run out of water, or the timing is off from my meal because the rice wasn't done. It seems when I try to make rice or other grain blends, my timing is always my error.

Now, I can preset & forget and still have perfect rice & grains with Cuisinart's new Rice Plus Multi Cooker with Fuzzy Logic technology..

Cuisinart Rice Plus™ Multi-Cooker with Fuzzy Logic Technology, everyday retail price: $149
The Multi-Cooker features pre-programmed menu options, a 24-hour programmable finish time and an automatic “Keep Warm” setting that activates after cooking is complete.  Cuisinart’s new kitchen appliance is also equipped with an easy-to-read control panel and backlit blue LCD display; pre-programmed menu options that include White Rice, Sushi Rice, Brown Rice and Risotto (which is most often made with Arborio Rice); and additional options for Soup, Oatmeal, Slow Cooking, and Steaming. In addition, the unit has Quick Cooking and Reheat functions, making it one of the most versatile pieces of kitchen equipment a home cook can possess.

I've made plain jasmine rice & a regular long grain organic brown so far but I'm ready to branch out, yet again.
For my breakfast tomorrow I am going to try my own recipe of cinnamon scented whole grains & for dinner this weekend, I want to try out chef Hubert Kellers recipe , which was made just for this amazing fuzzy logic rice cooker.

Brazilian Chicken and Shrimp Soup
A medley of aromatic spices, chicken and shrimp gives this hearty, Brazilian-inspired soup a burst of flavor; great as a one-pot meal.
Serves 8
5  chicken thighs, skinned
3   tablespoons fresh lime juice
2  garlic cloves, minced
1  tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 cup finely chopped onion (about 1 small)
1 cup diced green bell pepper (about 1 medium)
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1/3 cup finely chopped toasted peanuts
1 medium jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2  bay leaves
1-1/4  teaspoons salt
3/4   teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3  cups chicken broth
1-1/2  cups coconut milk
8   ounces raw shrimp (medium size), peeled and de-veined
10   ounces frozen peas
2  tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
4  cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice for serving

  1. Prepare rice using the long-grain directions on the cooking chart for Cuisinart’s Rice Plus™ Multi-Cooker. Rice can also be prepared the day before.
  2. Place the chicken in a medium mixing bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper.  Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the lime juice and rub chicken with minced garlic.  Mix thoroughly and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  3. In the cooking pot of the Cuisinart Rice Plus™ Multi-Cooker, add the olive oil. Set to Quick Cook and press start. Once the olive oil is hot, after about 3 minutes, add the onions and peppers and sauté for about 4 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the canned tomatoes including juice, peanuts, jalapeno, bay leaves, salt, pepper, broth, and coconut milk.  (Note: be sure to stir the coconut milk prior to pouring from can).  Add the chicken and marinade and stir until well combined.  Turn the unit off. Close the lid and select the Soup function and set the timer for 5 hours.
  5. 15 minutes before the timer is done, rinse the shrimp well and pat dry. Place in a mixing bowl with the remaining lime juice and a pinch each of the salt and pepper.  Refrigerate for 5 to 8 minutes; no longer or the acid of the juice will begin to cook the shrimp.
  6. Once there are 5 minutes remaining on the timer, open the lid and add the frozen peas and the shrimp, with the juices, and close again to finish cooking.
  7. Once the timer tone sounds, open the lid. Discard the bay leaves. Take out the whole chicken pieces and place on a cutting board.  Remove the meat from the bone, cut into bite size pieces, and return to the pot.  Stir in the cilantro to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  8. To serve, place some warm cooked rice (approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cup depending on portion size) in the bottom of each soup bowl and ladle the soup on top.   If desired, sprinkle with additional chopped cilantro and/or chopped peanuts.
This recipe for Brazilian Chicken and Shrimp Soup was developed specifically by Chef Keller using the Rice Plus™ Multi-Cooker.  The inspiration for this dish came from the two years in which Chef Keller worked in Brazil with Master Chef Roger Verge at Cuisine du Soleil.  There, he began to integrate some of the bright, bold flavors of Brazilian cooking that make this soup so unique and flavorful: combining chicken and jumbo shrimp, while using coconut milk and lime juice to deepen and enliven the stock base, and ultimately, adding a final flourish of cilantro.

Additional Soup Pointers from Chef Keller:
  • Soup is a great dish to serve at a cocktail party or get-together; pass it around in espresso cups or small Asian bowls, and for more informal gatherings, serve it in a coffee mug
  • When serving soup, think about adding a few decorative garnishes that add color and texture to the finished product.  Since garnishes should always reflect or enhance the flavors in the main dish, look at the ingredient list to see if there is something already in the soup that can be chopped and sprinkled on top, such as:
  • Peppers
  • Peanuts
  • Scallions
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Herbs
  • Croutons
If I'm brave enough to attempt this recipe, you can bet on pictures. For every under cooker, or over cooker of rice out there,

 Get one!
