March of Dimes Fundraiser/Giveaway

Hi! My name is Jayme and I blog over at The TaterTwins. Before I get to my point, I want to thank Claire for giving me the opportunity to use her blog to spread word about this fundraiser!

As the mom of several premature babies who spent time in the NICU, I have decided to raise money for the March of Dimes and to participate in our local walk on May 15th. Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.

Our first experience with the NICU was over five years ago when our daughter, Amelia, was born 5 weeks early. Then in the summer of '06, our daughter Elora was born 15 weeks early, weighing just a little over a pound. She never did make it home, you can read about her story here. Then just last summer, our twins Ryan & Dylan arrived 7 weeks early and spent about 2 weeks in the NICU.

When your baby comes early it's terrifying. To see them in the NICU hooked up to so many machines is heartbreaking. I hope that by supporting the March of Dimes someday no one ever has to experience it because of prematurity. I have teamed up with a wonderful company- S'more Smoochies- who is offering a giveaway every Saturday through the day of the walk for those who donate. So not only will you be supporting a great cause by donating, but you will be also entered to win some fabulous treats!

So please, consider donating. Every little bit will help save babies!
