Remember how I told you guys I NEED a vacation??
Well, one of the places I've heard in passing, but never looked much into, is Branson, MO. I've been to St. Louis. My sister visited a college there, when I was 12, or 13?
I remember because we went in the church that they used filming the Exorcist. Or.. the church that was actually used, for the real life base of the movie. I don't remember, either way, it kinda creeped me out.
It was a big city & that's all I remember of it.
Ooh! Wait!! I think we might have had good food, at some place there.
I don't know, I was really young & we visited alot of colleges that summer, remind me to tell you about the cadavers, thats a fun story.
Either way, my experience with the great state of Missouri is limited, I admit.
I got the opportunity to look a bit more into Branson, as a potential vacation spot & wanted to share with you guys what I found.
Branson, MO is the perfect family friendly destination. Located in the heart of America, it is less than a day's drive for many of you. Although for me, at 811 miles ( and 13 hours) away, it'd be a bit of a drive!! If you are not quite that close, like myself, there are two commercial airports that service the Branson area, so finding economical flights from most towns & cities in the USA is simple.
Did you know that Branson is the "Live Music Show Capitol of the World?"
I didn't before now.
Most people ( including me) thought, Nashville, Or even Las Vegas! Nope, it's Branson.
Once your in Branson, the hardest part will be deciding what to do!There is the The Silver Dollar City theme park, Titanic Museum, NAIA College Basketball Championship, FLW Bass Tournament, WorldFest Celebration, and those are just naming a few, like I mentioned, don't even get Branson started naming all the music shows they offer!!
While your there, you want to stay at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing
Look at it!! It's gorgeous, right?? How pretty, I bet it's gorgeous in the summer, with the night life!
The Hilton Branson Convention Center
is perfect for your stay, be it short or long, they can meet all your needs with their accommodations, plus offer a fabulous stay at great prices.
In fact, until March 31 2010, if you book with your Visa, you automatically save 25%. Hello savings!!
If we were to visit Branson, I'd definitely want to check out a show & some entertainment & night life. But I'd also love to get out & enjoy the nature, it's gorgeous in Branson!!
If we were to check out Branson, here is what I'd want to do,
- Check out the water park ( if we took the kids, that is!!) I hear they have.
- Go hiking/nature seeing. Mike & I like that sort of thing
- See a show! When we'd get into town, we'll see whats going on & pick what then. We like to swing by the seat of our pants, like that!
- Food!!! Need I say more?
- R-E-L-A-X. That's saying we don't take the kids, of course!
- The Titanic Museum. Mike & I would probably both enjoy that, if we got the time to actually visit( aka, with no kids!!!)
So, maybe this summer when we're planning our vacation, we'll check more into Branson, the live shows they have to offer and Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing for some gorgeous accommodations.
Have you ever been to Branson? If so, tell me about it!
If you haven't, does it sound like a place you'd like to check out?

I live in Las Vegas... anywhere else sounds like a destination! lol. I'll meet you there <3
ReplyDeleteIf you go, will you visit Kayla? She talks about going there often!
ReplyDeleteComing out of lurkdom :) We go to Branson every summer - sometimes twice. Branson has it all - lots to do and LOTS of people! If your not crazy about crowds, you better not go. Silver Dollar City is pretty cool, they have lots for kids to do and the water park is nice if you like that kinda thing. We go to Ridgedale which is just south and on the lake - we have a timeshare down there. The lake is beautiful! There are lots a minature golf and go carts all around Branson also. If you have anymore questions just ask :)
