Pampers, the Olympics & free 3 pack samples

Did you Know?

-A nine-month old baby can crawl up to 400 meters in 20 minutes(Learning to Keep Balance. Karen Adolph, Dept of Psychology, New York University)
-A cruising baby in one day can take as many steps as a marathon runner in a race
(O'Malley, M. "Normalization of temporal-distance parameter in pediatric gait" J. Biomechanics 29, 619-625, 1996)
-A baby can fall up to 300 times before managing to stand up or walk
(American Academy of Pediatrics, pg 260-261; Babyhood, P. Leach, pg 254)

Pampers has teamed up with Team USA, 2010 Olympian speedskater,Chad Hedrick & Olympic hopeful,Noelle Pikus-Pace, to introduce the new Pampers Cruisers & the Team USA babies. I do, use cloth diapers, as well. However, with Ryan's bad exczema, sensitive skin & major peeing, we have always used disposables at night & we're currently using them, during the day as well. Pampers SAVED my bed for 3 LONG months of MAJOR night peeing that no disposable, even paired with a cloth diaper, could prevent!
I love that Pampers is a company I know wont leak, and is built for babies, as a premium & long tested brand.

I'd like to share some of the sustainability information, that I recently learned, about Pampers.

Proven Commitment to the Environment
As the industry leader in innovation, Pampers is dedicated to creating better, more efficient products which offer real benefits and reduce the environmental footprint of our products and packaging. Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers with Dry Max are one step in our journey in creating more environmentally sustainable products.
Over the past 20 years, we’ve decreased our product weight by one-third and packaging weights by two-thirds.
Between 2002-2007, our plants worldwide reduced energy by 17%, water use by 38%, manufacturing waste by 55% and carbon dioxide emission by 10%.

Fewer Resources…
Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max are 20% thinner, which means fewer resources are used. And studies* show that most of the environmental impact of disposal diapers comes from their raw material production.
If current North America Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers users switched to the new Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max diaper, they could together throw away the weight of a billion less diapers every three years (based on 08/09 volume for Swaddlers/Cruisers).
For Cruisers parents, it could mean throwing away three less kitchen trash bags of diapers for every baby, every year (based on average usage).*

…Means Less Impact
Simply using fewer materials in the new diapers can have a domino effect on packaging, transportation and manufacturing, resulting in about 12% reduction in solid waste, 8% reduction in total energy demand, and significant progress against areas like global warming.
Due to the material reduction, Pampers can fit 30% more diapers in the same space on a truck, which could result in an estimated 23% reduction in number of trucks compared to truck usage for previous Cruisers (2008) under the same volume.
This can amount to an estimated reduction of 2,278 trucks, which equates to a reduction of 683,400 gallons of fuel and 4,100,400 miles per truck fuel capacity per year.
