Awhile back I got to check out Plan Toys school bus toy. You can read that review here.
With the holidays coming up I've found myself looking for educational toys & for the kids gifts & of course, Plan Toys always come to the top of the list. I know that I don't have to worry about harmful paints or toxins with Plan Toys, which is a huge relief since they have everything my boys want!
I love the green standards Plan Toys stick to, like Organic Rubberwood,Non-Toxic E-Zero Glue,Water Based Dye,Recycled and Recyclable Material,Soy & Water-based Ink being their green materials while even their attitude is eco friendly as they participate in Forest Conservation,Toys for Children with Special Needs & Disaster Relief to name a few.
I'm a Fan of Plan Toys on FaceBook, so I get constant updates on all the wooden toys we love so much & projects they work on. Add them to your FaceBook fan page & keep along with them as well, there is no telling whats in store with the holiday season, you just might find "that toy" you've been looking for!
I know that Andy would sure like the Garage
I'll be keeping my eye out for developmental toys Ryan would like!
Stay tuned for more from Plan Toys & my blog as well!!!!

I love purses. However, as a mom I often get stuck with diaper bags. What about ME? I dont take a diaper bag with me when I am with out kids, I take one of my favorite purses.
I found amykathryn while browsing the web & was bowled over at their gorgeous line of bags.
With the launch of their Fall 2009 line, I got the opportunity to check out one of their gorgeous new bags for Fall. I decided to take the Primrose, in brown, for a spin.
amykathryn is giving away the Amaryllis bag in pink, which is GORGEOUS! I might add!

Have you always wanted to do something with your favorite t-shirts, you know, the ones from your sorority days, or the races you ran in college, or that once in a lifetime concert you went to. You know, the ones you cant even wear anymore, they're just too precious? I can think of a few of mine.. The Abercombie shirt that has a piece of bread saying "You knead me, I dont knead you!" Or, the Martini Glass that is captioned " I need a stiff one." Ah.. then there are Mikes, the handsome Jesus with the Nixon fingers that says "VOTE JESUS" Thats a memorable shirt for Mike & I, which I later followed up with the Jesus is my Homeboy shirt, of course.
Campus Quilts came up with a solution! Send in your clothing items & let these professionals create a quilt of your memories, for you!
By the way, while working with Campus Quilts, I figured out where all the customer service in the world went.. to Campus Quilt!!
Before I even had the kit I had so much information, ideas to take pictures, express EXACTLY what I wanted in my quilt, even an offer for a phone call consult! They have gone above & beyond to make this process exactly what you want it to be. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable knowing that when I get my quilt, its going to look exactly like I wanted it, not how the company pictured it, but exactly as I described & explained to them.
When I opened the kit I had to sit down to look it over. They give you extensive detail in designing your quilt just as if you were sewing it yourself. From a guide to sticky numbers to help direct them the exact layout of your choice with your shirts. The small fabric swatch guide actually gives you to ability to feel & match each backing exactly before your eyes. As soon as I felt the flannel, I knew that was exactly what I wanted!
Less than 4 weeks later..
I got my quilt!! I was of course shocked by how quick it came & how awesome it looked. But it wasn't until later, when I sat down & laid it on my lap & went over each square & in my head recited which item it came from, which boy, the memory with it. I felt the warmth & softness & realized this is the type of item, that 30 years from now, Mike & I will be sitting with on our lap, reciting the same comments about those memories that have all been captured in one item.
This is some random thermal shirt I think I got at a second hand kids place. Mike was wearing them at the time & I thought Andy having one would be cute. It was hideous, truly. I was new to resale shopping & the thing was so worn, the wrists were a bit saggy, it was just ugly but oh, so soft!!!
This was one of the first buys for Ryan when we realized OMG, he'd outgrown everything we had for him! ( and everything being ALL Andys baby clothes still!!!) He was ( IS!) SOOO big!!!
This was one of the first things Mike & I bought when I was pregnant with Andy. We were living in Cape Coral & I remember the day we bought it. We both thought it was cute. Unfortunately it wasnt super soft & the boys were so big they never wore it, but I just couldnt part with it.
Andy wore this, his First Christmas under a holiday sweater.
I dont sew. I "can" but.. not a quilt! This is something that I always wanted but never really expected to have b/c I sure as hell dont have time to learn to make a quilt! I trusted one company to do it for me & they went beyond what i ever drempt for these clothes & memories.
I cant think of enough great things to say about Campus Quilts work. I really just cant! And you know me, a big talker, so thats really saying something ( haha! Pun intended)
One reader will get a $150 gift certificate towards a quilt of their own, to Campus Quilts!!
Visiting Campus Quilt, take a peek at their selection & photos. Tell me what you'd get & what you'd so if you could have them make a quilt for you.

I think the first time I fell in love with shawls was when Jessica Simpson had a yellow one on, mixing something in a bowl on her forever ago TV show.
A week later I saw a girl at a bar with a gorgeous green shawl & liked it so much, I asked her where it came from. The next day I wondered to Dillard's & got this gorgeous green thing for EIGHT DOLLARS.
I have never found another I liked so much, in life, or in a magazine, etc.

Life is rocking right along as Mike is almost DONE with school! Can you believe it?? A few weeks ago we realized, this time next year we might be watching Mike walk the stage to get his hard earned diploma & having an awesome celebration with everyone, Or even,we might find ourselves moving, be it to a new town or new state.
Before too long, Mike will start working on his resume & all these last few years will really be worth it. Needless to say, this realization has given us both quite the boost we needed. No longer do I find myself bitching about what little space we have in the house, because I know it isnt forever. I think we've been realizing we need to enjoy this time while we can, as soon Mike will actually have a job & we will have to pretend to be adults.
So, I've been cleaning & playing with the kids & just doing things as a family the last few weeks. Some deep cleaning, organizing.. Fall-izising. ( You know, the transfer from Summer to Fall in the house) which has been interesting to say the least!
We had a kitten for about 2 days. Andy named him Bird ( or Bert?) and he took off after less than 2 days with a nice free dose of Frontline, jerk.
Andy is just crazy! This kid & his sentences & words & his level of expression is just bursting at the seams! We're into the building/pretend stage, a bit right now. Kurt, a friend of ours gave Andy some awesome blocks & building/creating toys & he's been non stop creating. I cant believe how polite & sweet & kind Andy is, he amazes me every day!
Ryan is a beast. Literally, he jumps off furniture when no one is there to catch him, throws chairs & tables with ease across the room, runs like a mad man..
Me, I've just been taking a breather from EVERYTHING. Sometimes we all need to do that, just forget about the outside world & focus on your little family to remind you whats important.
We'd had a whole month of fun events planned but since Ohio decided to turn back to crap & rain all the time, our last few weekends were put on hold for better weather.
I have tons of pictures, videos & fun stuff to share with everyone.
PLUS.. Since I've been gone for sooo long, I am almost done with a full week of giveaways for my readers coming up. I've been "out of the game' but I need to show you guys I love you with some awesome stuff coming up. So, I hope you'll stay tuned, even though I went MIA on all of you!
